I became dissatisfied with my old dentist, so I searched for a dentist who was In-Network with my insurance company, Humana, and who also takes Medicare, and I was fortunate enough to find Dr. Miranda. I saw Dr. Miranda for the 1st time in Feb. 2017 when I was due for a check-up and cleaning; and at that point, I also need a crown installed. The check-up and cleaning went very well; in fact, I was very much impressed that Dr. Miranda cleaned my teeth himself. With my previous DDS, the dental hygienist cleaned my teeth with the usual ‘scraping’; but Dr. Miranda cleaned my teeth with an ‘electric’ instrument, which I felt was expertly done. My crown was eventually installed some months later, but not without some problems; however, those problems were caused by Humana, definitely NOT Dr. Miranda, or Helton, his ins. agent. I had a special situation, in that my crown was to be processed through Humana’s Medical Dept., not their Dental Dept. Helton and I had all the proper paper work completed, had obtained the authorization from Humana, we had done everything ‘by the book’, etc., but regardless, Humana repeatedly messed up giving the approval, as well as with the processing and billing of my crown. Finally, after too-numerous-to-count submissions to Humana by Helton and myself, we finally got the entire situation resolved and Dr. Miranda installed my crown. Working with Helton was easy as he is a very knowledgeable, cooperative, and dedicated person. I have only very positive things to say about Dr. Miranda and his staff. Dr. Miranda is not only a very ethical person, but he is also a very professional person; and the installation of my crown went perfectly. Dr. Miranda is the best.
